Israel in 9 Days

Day 1:
Meet and assist at Ben-Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv.   Transfer to Jerusalem.  Afternoon free.  Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.

Day 2:
After breakfast begin tour of Jerusalem at the Mt. Of Olives to enjoy the spectacular panoramic view over the Old City & the Temple Mount. If possible visit at Gethsemane, where Jesus spent the night before his arrest. Drive to Dung Gate and enter the Old City. Walk to the Western Wall, the holiest site to the Jewish faith that stands as the only reminder of the Holy Temple and is visited by thousands every day. Continue across the Muslim Quarter and see the wonder of the spectacular Temple Mount (closed on Fridays and Saturdays) to the Via Dolorosa, along which Jesus walked bowed under the weight of the Cross. Visit Church of Holy Sepulcher. Cross over the Armenian & Jewish Quarters to  Mt. Zion to visit the Last Supper Room and Dormition Abbey.  Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.

Day 3: 
After breakfast drive to Caesarea, an early Christian center where Cornelius was Baptized by Peter and visit the ancient ruins and the Aqueduct. Proceed to  Haifa to visit Bahais Gardens to see the  Golden Dome of the Bahai Temple  and then walk around the beautiful gardens.  See Stella Maris perched high atop Mt. Carmel and the Church of Elijah, and enjoy one of the most stunning beauty spots in Israel where Mt. Carmel skims the bay of Haifa.   Dinner and overnight Tiberias.

Day 4: 
After breakfast drive to the shores of the Sea of Galilee.  Visit Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fish, Capernaum to see the ruins of the ancient synagogue and settlement that is also said to be the place where Jesus lived and the Mt. of Beautitudes where Jesus was said to deliver the Sermon on the Mount.  Continue through Cana of Galilee, the site of the first public miracle to the holy town of Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus and one of the most sacred places in the Christian faith. Visit the Church of the Annunciation that is believed to be built at the exact spot where Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would give birth to the Son of God.  Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.

Day 5:
Drive through the amazing landscape of the of Judean Desert where the first settlers arrived during the Stone Age.  Relish in the the subtle colours and moulds of this stunning and powerful landscape as old as time.  Drive to Massada, the powerful fortress/palace of King Herod, built on top of the towering mountain in the desert. Ride the cable car to view the exquisitely restored archaeological remains and learn about the tragedy of the Zealots, its last defenders. Enjoy the opportunity to float in the salty waters of the lowest point on earth.  Experience the magical, theraputic and healing qualities of the water, mud and minerals unique to the Dead Sea.  Dinner and overnight Jerusalem.

Day 6:
After breakfast enjoy a visit to the cosmopolitan and modern spirited city of Tel Aviv.  Continue to the fascinating ancient town of Jaffa.  Dinner and overnight Tel Aviv.

Day 7 and 8:
Enjoy free time in Tel Aviv.  Experience the night life, shopping, beach, spectacular restaurants and culture.   Optional tours available.

Day 9:
After breakfast transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure from Israel.
